I have been spotting regularly for a couple of months around the municipalities of Lisbon and Cascais, in Portugal and here are some of the best places for carspotting that I know of.

First up is the Cascais Marina. Its close to a very wealthy beach area, and the general area around has lots of expensive hotels (Intercontinental Cascais-Estoril, Sheraton Cascais), restaurants near the coast and the Casino Estoril. Best times for carspotting here are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from around 6 pm to around 10 pm, even though every day of the week is pretty decent around that time, especially during summer. You will regularly see Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, high end Porsche’s, Aston Martin’s and maybe once a year, a Ukrainian Carrera GT might decide to spawn near the area. Inside the garage, there are some covered cars, like a 575M, a Z1 and some Porsche’s. Other than those, no supercars are guaranteed but definitely worth a shot.

Another very decent place for carspotting, is in Lisbon, in the Avenida da Liberdade. The whole avenue has luxury restaurants (like JNcQUOI), a lot of luxury stores and Epic Sana Marquês, with the hotels driveway sometimes holding interesting cars. The parkings near the avenue like the Tivoli Forum, Telpark Marques can hold some interesting cars, but the best bet is to walk down the avenue. Ferrari’s, high end and GT Porsche cars appear regularly. Maybe once every three months, Carina Lima, a famous portuguese racecar driver can appear in the avenue, having been spotted with a Bugatti Chiron Noire, a 918 Spyder, an Aventador 50th Anniversario Roadster. A matte black 918 also appears every year near the area, mostly in summer. Some other spots near the area include a GT2RS, and a SLR McLaren. Best times are probably around 6 pm to 10 pm.

Last place is the area around Parque Eduardo VII. Compared to the other two places this one might feel a little weaker but exotic cars can and will still appear. Two of the biggest luxury hotels in Lisbon are in this zone (Ritz and InterContinental), so hotel driveways are definitely worth checking. Also near InterContinental, there is a garage with almost no security at all so you can go inside without any issues (Estacionamento Castilho 77). Cristiano Ronaldo’s Daytona SP3 has been spotted inside it as well as the matte black 918.

Some extra info you’re gonna need:

  • Inside the Cascais Marina garage, there is a luxury car dealer’s showroom (BelouraCar), displaying Ferrari’s, Porsche GT cars and occasionally Lamborghini’s and McLaren’s. Staff is very friendly and pictures inside are allowed.
  • Just behind the BelouraCar showroom, there is the Luxury Car Services. Some of the cars that have been spotted there are a Ukrainian 918 Spyder, a GT3RS, DB12S, GT3 Touring and a GTC4Lusso.
  • Also near the Cascais area, in Alcabideche, there is a cluster of dealers, including Aston Martin, Mercedes Benz, Maserati and Lamborghini.
  • Sometimes, the Autodromo de Estoril hosts track days, and lots of luxury cars can appear in the paddock.
  • In Birre, there is a BelouraCar dealer that can have very interesting loot
  • Near the Ritz hotel in Lisbon, is the Ferrari dealer. Sometimes very interesting cars are unloaded there. No photos allowed inside the dealer.
  • Epic Sana Amoreiras, not very far away from the Ferrari dealer, has a floor full of Ferraris. You need to have a car to get in the garage, otherwise security is gonna kick you out.
  • There is a McDonald’s near the roundabout in Marquês de Pombal, near the avenue, and another one just outside Cascais train station.
  • Best way is to travel by car. Otherwise public transport is gonna take around 1 or 2 hours, from the avenue to the marina (by train)
  • Also there is a liveupload group for the area Lisbon/Cascais @liveupload_lisboa
